TOMSK, Jan 25 – RIA Tomsk. Students of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) on Monday, in Day of Russian students, recorded an appeal to inhabitants of the Earth, which will be broadcast by satellite to be launched for the anniversary of the university, said the correspondent of RIA Tomsk.
Day of Russian students or Tatiana's Day is celebrated in Russia on 25th January. Earlier, the press service of the university informed that to its 120th anniversary, which is celebrated in May, 2016, TPU plans to launch into orbit a small satellite, created from materials developed by scientists of TPU. As planned by polytechnics, this satellite will transmit greetings to the Earth and also will help to test a number of developments of the university and its partners.
"At first we planned to record a greeting in six languages: German, English, French, Russian, Portuguese, Chinese. But during the recording spontaneously were added Arabic and Tatar", – told RIA Tomsk the editor of corporate television TPU Julia Nikolas.
According to the university, during the week an appeal will be recorded also in Hindi and Kazakh. The spacecraft will be launched from the International Space Station (ISS) on March, 31st. Satellite signal can be received even by amateur radio equipment if it works at frequency 437.025 MHz."We, the students of TPU, brought the weighty contribution to the development of astronautics, welcome everyone who hears us. On air is a board of the small spacecraft - it's a satellite made by ourselves in honor of the 120th our university's anniversary. We wish all people of a planet happiness and peace, and those who storms Universe open spaces we wish cosmic achievements!", – says the message of polytechnics.
