TOMSK, May 24 – RIA Tomsk.Tomsk State University (TSU) will allocate the funds received within "5-100" for the projects connected with studying of Siberia and also for new master programs, the head of the information policy department of the higher education institution Yulia Emer reported.
TSU and TPU were included into the 5-100 project in 2013, additional financing is allocated to participants of the project for increase of the international competitiveness. In 2016 both Tomsk higher education institutions will get 500 million rubles. It became known that funds are allocated.
Earlier it was reported that the Trans-Siberian Scientific Way center (Transsiberian Scientific Way, TSSW) was officially opened in TSU at the beginning of February, 2016. The main specialization of the center is complex studying of Siberia with involvement of scientific groups from around the world.
"The Trans-Siberian Scientific Way center already became the center of gravity for the entrants wishing to take part in interdisciplinary research projects. <…> The part of the allocated funds (within the 5-100 project) will be aimed at the development of TSSW – first of all, at creation, development of master programs in the Russian and English languages, such, for example, as "Studying of Siberia and the Arctic", "The European quality" and others", – Emer told.
She added that the international interdisciplinary school, which will pass in the summer of 2016 in the gorge to Aktr in Mountain Altai where biologists, anthropologists and ecologists will discuss problems of Siberia in the context of global climatic changes, will become one more TSSW project.As the press service of TSU reports, funds received within the 5-100 project will be also directed to modernization of educational process in general. The separate attention will be paid to programs of master and postgraduate study.
"Implementation of the tasks requires development of new approaches to contents, educational technologies, administration of educational process. So, for example, the main educational technology is supposed to be problem based learning which elements we already use", – the press service quotes the vice rector of TSU for study Victor Dyomin.
