TOMSK, Sep 1 – RIA Tomsk. The lyceum at Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) this academic year will train pupils in the new profile directions – the first in Tomsk atomic and IT classes are opened here, the press service of the university reported on Thursday.
"The Tomsk's first profile atomic and IT classes opened in lyceum at TPU today. The purpose of profile classes – is intense pre-university training of the Tomsk school students who are going to connect further professional activity with one of the directions presented at lyceum. Classes at pupils will be given not only by teachers of lyceum, but also by TPU scientists", – is said in the message.
According to the press service to enter the profile direction, graduates of the ninth classes of the Tomsk schools have undergone strict selection on a competitive basis. In each class will study about 28 people.
Large representatives of IT business – Kaspersky Lab, Mail.ru Group and KUKA Robotics became partners of IT class, they will provide training courses, methodical materials, hold webinars, video lectures and competitions of scientific projects for lyceum students.It is added that the atomic class opened with the assistance of the Tomsk information center on atomic energy of Rosatom state corporation. Additional financing for participation of lyceum students in the scientific actions, competitions and conferences devoted to questions of nuclear non-proliferation will provide Swedish nuclear inspectorate.
"Pupils of this class will conduct scientific work in the field of nuclear physics under the direction of TPU scientists. Moreover, these children will become the only school students in Russia who will happen to conduct scientific work on the research nuclear reactor", – quoted in the message the deputy director of physics and technology institute of TPU Dmitry Demyanyuk.
Earlier it was reported that the first specialized Gazprom class opened at TPU lyceum in 2015 with the support of "Gazprom transgaz Tomsk".
