TOMSK, Oct 12 – RIA Tomsk. Two higher education institutions of Tomsk and Maastricht University (Netherlands) plan to open the Russia's first international research Public Health Center in 2017, the press service of Tomsk State University (TSU) reported on Wednesday.
It is specified that TSU, Siberian State Medical University (SSMU) and Maastricht University participate in the project. Representatives of the higher education institutions agreed about opening of the Center at the meeting in Tomsk, where scientists of three universities will be engaged in complex studying of problems of health – both with medical, and with sociological, philosophical, ethical and other parties."In particular, scientists plan to study a resistance to antibiotics problem which is not only a medical and biological, but also cultural and political problem. Now the application for the program of the European Union "Horizon 2020" is being prepared for this project. It is supposed that the Center will begin work at the beginning of 2017", – it is said in the report.
It is noted that the public health care is a discipline within which scientists from the different fields of science study social and cultural sources of problems of health in a complex. This activity is intended to prophylaxis of diseases and improvement of quality of life of the population.
