TOMSK, Oct 21 – RIA Tomsk. Programmers of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) work on creation of programs for search of anomalies in network of the ATLAS project and improvement of the "black box" of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), the press service of the higher education institution reported on Friday.
CERN is the largest international scientific organization of Europe in the field of nuclear physics. It is located in Switzerland. Large number of large opening was made exactly here, in particular, Higgs boson is discovered. It operates the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Earlier it was reported that TPU opened laboratory in 2015 which will be engaged in creation of system of storage and information processing for CERN.
"Polytechnicians work on creation of software for detection of anomalies in the computer network of the ATLAS project, they are engaged in development of uniform base of publications of CERN scientists, and also monitoring and improvement of the PanDA system which is a peculiar "black box" for scientists of the European Organization for Nuclear Research ", – is said in the message.
It is explained that data processing is the main thing, what the CERN scientists have to be engaged in. Collisions of the charged particles in the LHC happen continuously, the collider detectors fix them. These data boot in system with terabytes in a second. Scientists of the department of optimization of management systems and department of applied mathematics of TPU are engaged in enhancement of the ATLAS network."It was succeeded to achieve interesting results on search and elimination of defects in the information system of the ATLAS project processing large volumes of the data arriving from the LHC. Now we approached creation of a prototype of software which will track anomalies and warn about their appearance", – the TPU programmer Maxim Gubin is quoted.
It is noted that the prototype, presumably, will be introduced and tested by the beginning of the next year.
