TOMSK, Mar 13 – RIA Tomsk, Aleksandra Astafyeva. Scientists of Tomsk State University (TSU) and scientific research institute of cardiology develop a new technique of assessment of immune inflammation in heart which will allow to reveal patients with complications after myocardial infarction, the press service of the university reports on Monday.
According to the press service of TSU, more and more patients survive after myocardial infarction, but also grows the number of those at whom postinfarction heart failure develops. All human organs suffer from this disease, and the prospects of treatment are often limited. Therefore scientists work on forecasting of complications of heart attack and management of them at an early stage.
"We plan to create diagnostic panels from biomarkers and their combinations which in the future will allow in the presence of experts for short term to carry out the analysis, reveal risk group among patients and to prevent development of dangerous complications, in particular heart failure", – the performer of the project Aleksandra Gombozhapova is quoted in the message.
According to her, yet there is no inflammation assessment method directly in heart after a heart attack, and nobody can tell why heart failure develops even if physicians have helped. Scientists of TSU and scientific research institute of cardiology will investigate tissues of heart of the patients who have died of a myocardial infarction and its complications, and will estimate how many types of immune cages are present there. It will supply with the necessary information on character of an inflammation. It is noted that this year the project of development of myocardial infarction adverse consequences diagnosing method is supported by the "UMNIK" program of the Fund for assistance to innovations. Scientists plan to patent this method following the results of the project.
