TOMSK, May 4 – RIA Tomsk. Foreigners from Ecuador, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan studying in Russian universities will for the first time participate in the fifth team Science Game which final will take place in Tomsk within the framework of the U-NOVUS forum, the press service of the regional administration reported on Thursday.
Earlier it was reported that Science Game in 2013 was started by Tomsk Polytechnical University (TPU). A year later the game became All-Russian. Two correspondence rounds and the resident final which is held in Tomsk within the U-NOVUS forum are provided. The subject of the game in 2017 – is an invention, to the final of Science Game will arrive school and university students from 16 cities of Russia.
"In the final of the all-Russian team youth Science Game for the first time will take part foreign students studying in Russian universities. These are students from Ecuador, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan who will compete for the main prizes with other students and schoolchildren from 16 Russian cities", – it is said in the message.
It is noted that one of the participants will be the student of Ural Federal University (UrFU) Eric Maldonado, who came to Russia from Ecuador more than three years ago. In UrFU, the young man studies mechatronics and robotics. The student is especially interested in medical robotics."I heard a little about Tomsk. My friend from Bolivia with whom we together live and we study, has relatives in this city there. He told that though Tomsk is the small city, it is very strong and developed in terms of science. After his stories it became interesting to me to visit this city", – the student is quoted in the message.
Together with other finalists of the Science Game Eric will come to Tomsk at the expense of organizers of the game.
Earlier it was also reported that the final round will be held on May 17 in the days of the U-NOVUS forum in Tomsk. Participants will pass a quest on 36 of the best scientific centers and laboratories of four Tomsk universities. At each location, players will have to perform tasks prepared for them by Tomsk scientists.
