TOMSK, Jun 6 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University (TSU) and engineering school of France École Polytechnique (Paris) start the double diploma master program for engineers; TSU became the second Russian university after Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) the French school signed the similar agreement with, the press service of the university reports on Tuesday.
"TSU and École Polytechnique signed the agreement on cooperation in the field of exchange programs and double diplomas. In Russia TSU is now the second university with which the strongest engineering school in France will launch the joint master program", – is said in the report.
It is specified that École Polytechnique is the strongest engineering school in France. The signatures under the agreement were put by the Vice President for academic affairs and research of the École polytechnique Frank Pacard and the rector of TSU Eduard Galazhinsky. After that, representatives of the French university held a meeting with potential undergraduates – programmers, mathematicians, physicists and radio physicists studying at TSU.
It is noted that the start of the master program "Polytechnic engineer" is planned for September 2017. The training is designed for three years. The first and last semesters students will study at their home university, and the rest of the time - in the host one. This year from each higher education institution will be selected five people, for which the training will be free. After graduation, graduates will receive two diplomas.
"We are extremely selective in École Polytechnique, and we expect that exceptional, very good students will come to us. The scientific component is a priority for us, therefore the requirements for the selected students are very high", – the press service quotes Pacard.With reference to the Vice-Rector for International Relations of TSU Artem Rykun, it is reported that in Russia at École Polytechnique such a contract was signed only with MIPT. "This is a high assessment of the quality of our education and our students. In addition, the Paris school expressed a potential willingness to send students to us, because they consider TSU rather interesting", – Rykun said.
