TOMSK, Jul 5 – RIA Tomsk. Masters from the Dominican Republic, Chile and 10 other countries, as well as from 15 regions of the Russian Federation have already applied for participation in the anniversary Festival Competition "The Feast of the Ax", which will be held near Tomsk in August, the press service of the regional administration said on Wednesday.
Earlier it was reported that the "The Feast of the Ax" in the summer of 2017 will be held in the Tomsk region in an expanded format. In particular, there will be competitions of potters and blacksmiths, in a separate nomination assigned the competition for carving with a chiansaw. Near the park "Okolitsa", where the holiday traditionally takes place, for guests the camping will be organized. The festival-contest will be held from 15 to 20 August.
"Carvers and carpenters from Belarus, Serbia, Poland, the Dominican Republic, Mongolia, Germany, Denmark, Tajikistan, France, Brazil, Chile and Kazakhstan applied to participate in the 10th Anniversary International Festival Competition "The Feast of the Ax", – is said in the message.
It is specified that masters from the Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Irkutsk, Sverdlovsk, and Tula regions, Altai, Krasnoyarsk, Perm, Krasnodar krais, Khakassia, Chuvashia and Moscow are also going to take part in the festival.It is noted that this year the masters will compete in individual nominations "Wooden Sculpture" and "Woodcarving". In two nominations "Small architectural form" – among individual masters and brigades – participants will create original benches, arbours or wells. Also there will take place the traditional competition among carpenter's crews.
