TOMSK, Oct 11 – RIA Tomsk. Scientists of Tomsk State University (TSU) will create a clever superstructure for unmanned aerial vehicles which will become a basis of a complex of protection against enemy UAVs intelligence agents, the press service of the university reports on Wednesday.
With reference to the dean of the faculty of innovative technologies of TSU Stanislav Shidlovsky it is explained that now small-sized aircraft are often used as an instrument of investigation. As drones which are operated by the operator from the outside and attack an enemy object, so specially trained birds are used for this purpose.
"Scientists of FIT propose a new solution of this problem – creation of an intellectual superstructure which will help aircraft to work independently – for example, to distinguish a foreign object independently, to build the trajectory bypassing obstacles”, – it is said in the statement.
It is specified that the watchman UAV will be able to carry out such difficult functions thanks to specialized means – systems of technical sight, control, paving a way and others. "The aircraft will build a three-dimensional map of space around itself, fix presence of a violator, to predict its movement and to solve at what moment it is necessary to attack the opponent", – the press service explains.
"The weight which the UAV can lift is limited, therefore it is impossible to install the powerful computer therefore all calculations will be made on small calculators which can process a large number of information in parallel. For this purpose it is necessary to write special algorithms on which creation we also will work", – Shidlovsky's words are cited in the message.It is noted that there are no development analogs in Russia. The project won the competition "Research and Development in Priority Areas of Development of the Russian Scientific and Technological Complex for 2014-2020". The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and Tomsk Scientific Research Institute of Semiconductor Devices will be engaged in support of development.
