TUSUR creates software for testing power supply systems for space

TOMSK, Dec 11 – RIA Tomsk. Scientists of Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) plan to create a prototype of a software product for modeling and testing of high-voltage power supply  bus-bars for space vehicles and a unique camera for testing their elements by 2019, the press service of innovative organizations of the region said on Monday.

With reference to one of the developers Talgat Gazizov, it is reported that space vehicles become larger in time and require more energy. If before the power supply bus for them was 27-28 volts, now they need 100-volt. In this case, bus-bars should be small in mass and with a reduced possibility of electromagnetic influence on it.

"Employees of the TUSUR research laboratory "Electromagnetic compatibility and the safety of radioelectronic equipment" are developing a software and hardware system for modeling and testing high-voltage power supply buses for spacecraft", – is said in the report.

It is noted that Tomsk scientists carry out a complex of research and design works for a joint project with JSC Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems in Zheleznogorsk. In May 2017, the project became the winner of the state program and received a grant for implementation. The prototype of the software product should be submitted at the end of 2019.

"The program will help to create a network for different spacecraft: large, small, with different loads. It will simulate the propagation of signals in the bus, optimize the parameters and structure of this bus to specific requirements using genetic algorithms and evolutionary strategies", – Gazizov said.

It is added that an experimental TEM-camera for spacecraft elements testing will also be made within the framework of the project. The element placed in it will simultaneously be exposed to very high temperatures (up to plus 150 degrees Celsius) and very low (up to minus 50 degrees) temperatures, humidity and electromagnetic radiation. There is no analogue of such a camera in the world.
