TOMSK, Jan 16 – RIA Tomsk. The Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR) supported 14 scientific projects of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) for a total amount of 26.6 million rubles; projects of polytechnicians concern the development of cities, telemedicine, fight against malignant formations, the press service of the university said on Tuesday.
It is specified that in 2016, through a competition of initiative projects – the main RFBR competition – TPU received support for five of its scientific projects (for 5.7 million rubles), in 2017 – six (for 11.9 million rubles), in 2018 the number of projects increased to 14. "The total amount of project support is 26.6 million rubles, mainly grants are designed for three years – until 2020", – is said in the report.
It is noted that among the projects supported by RFBR, there are the development of telemedical intellectual information systems for improving the quality of medical care, as well as work on new approaches in the treatment of malignant neoplasms. In addition, RFBR supported several projects devoted to the theme of economic and innovative development of the country, as well as certain regions and cities."The statistics of recent years shows that polytechnicians are increasingly participating in various support programs, including those contests of the two largest domestic funds, - Russian Science Foundation and Russian Foundation for Basic Research <…> I am glad that the number of the supported projects of Tomsk Polytechnic is growing", – the head of the TPU Scientific and Technological Programs Office Denis Kurtenkov is quoted.
