TOMSK, Feb 16 – RIA Tomsk. Professors of three Tomsk universities – Tomsk State University (TSU), Polytechnic University (TPU) and Pedagogical University (TSPU) – received the Web of Science Award 2017, which is awarded to highly cited scientists and scientific organizations for outstanding contributions to the development of science, the portal Indicator.Ru informs.
Web of Science – is a search platform which integrates databases of publications in scientific journals and patents. Until 2016, the company was owned by Thomson Reuters, since October 2016 and till now has been managed by Clarivate Analytics.
"Sixteen Russian scientists were awarded the prizes. Among the laureates are <…> the physicist Mikhail Sheremet (TSU, TPU), the theoretical physicist Sergei Odintsov (TSPU)", – is said in the report.
It is specified that the award ceremony took place in Moscow. Among the awardees are also scientists from Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, St. Petersburg Academic University of Russian Academy of Sciences, Research Institute of Medical Primatology, Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences and others.
