TOMSK, Apr 18 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University (TSU) and Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR, Dubna) are launching a joint master program "Materials and Devices of Functional Electronics and Photonics", is reported on the website of Tomsk State University.
Earlier it was reported that TSU and JINR in October 2017 signed the agreement on cooperation, within the framework of which it is planned to establish a basic department of the institute in the university for carrying out joint research and personnel training.
With reference to the head of the laboratory of functional electronics of TSU, professor Oleg Tolbanov, it is noted that the training of highly qualified specialists on the principle of STEM is very relevant today. This allows to create and bring high technologies to the global markets.
"The program ("Materials and Devices of Functional Electronics and Photonics") will start in September 2018. During the first year, the undergraduates will study the structure, properties and capabilities of advanced electronics and photonics materials, as well as computer technologies needed to design electronic and photonic devices and management of them", - is said in the statement.
It is added that on the second year students will be divided into specializations. Graduates who have chosen the module "Devices and Methods of Particle Physics" will pass it in Dubna, where they will be able to take part in experiments in nuclear physics, elementary particle physics. In particular, to join the development, installation and commissioning of equipment of the unique accelerator of protons and heavy ions NICA.Students will be able to choose other modules: "Functional Electronics" and "Modern Photonics and Radiophonics".
"Graduates of the new master's program will be able to work in JINR laboratories. Their knowledge and skills will also be in demand in other research laboratories, at industrial enterprises, in innovative business", - it is noted in the report of TSU.
The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) - is the international intergovernmental scientific research organization, where theoretical and experimental research in the field of elementary particle physics, nuclear physics and condensed matter physics are conducted.
