TOMSK, Nov 30 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) and Cognitive Technologies company will prepare specialists for cognitive technologies branch, be engaged in scientific projects and their certification and metrology on the basis of joint laboratory which was opened on Friday in Tomsk university, TUSUR press service reported.
Earlier it was reported that the Cognitive Technologies company and the administration of the Tomsk region signed the cooperation agreement in the sphere of the artificial intelligence (AI) at the forum U-NOVUS-2018 which took place in October. One of joint projects concerns creation of test platforms and grounds of the AI systems in Tomsk, which were supposed to be placed on the basis of the scientific and industrial enterprises.
According to the press service, the laboratory of cognitive technologies – the joint project of the Tomsk university and leading world developer of systems of artificial intelligence for pilotless vehicles of the Cognitive Technologies company was opened on November 30 in TUSUR.
"It is the university project which efficiency will be defined, first of all, by training for the new industry therefore a task of laboratory is to become some point where training, researches and development, certification of projects, work connected with metrics for the systems of computer sight takes place", – the head of Cognitive Technologies Olga Uskova is quoted in the message.
It is added that opening of laboratory was preceded by four years of work with researchers and developers of TUSUR on separate pilot projects of the sphere connected with creation of systems of artificial intelligence: "We found out that those teams of students and teachers which are given by TUSUR are in the most world top on quality", – Uskova noted.It is noted that start of laboratory will allow TUSUR to involve other companies in collaboration – world leaders of high-tech industry. According to Uskova, Tomsk and TUSUR can become the world center for cognitive technologies in the next 10 years, first of all, for preparation of sensors for the new robotic world.
