TOMSK, Dec 1 – RIA Tomsk. Voting on choice of name for Tomsk airport, which was conducted within Great Names of Russia project, came to end, about 70 thousand people voted on website of project, majority – for candidate of aircraft designer Nikolay Kamov; final results with voices on other platforms will be declared on Tuesday, is reported on the competition website.
Earlier it was reported that names of outstanding compatriots will be appropriated to 47 Russian airports within the Great Names of Russia project in 2018. Names which will be chosen by residents of the country in a voting process until the end of November will add official names of the airports. The Civic chamber of the Russian Federation included Nikolay Rukavishnikov, Andrey Savinykh and Nikolay Kamov's names in the Tomsk short list.
Also it was reported that it was possible to vote for a name of the airport in several ways: on the website Великиеимена.рф, through VKontakte and Odnoklassniki social networks, through hotline and fill out the questionnaire in volunteer points.
"Final vote is complete. Leading of the final results will take several days which are necessary for processing of all questionnaires arriving from regions and data of statistics on all platforms where the voting took place. Winners of the competition will be declared on December 4 at 19:00 on air of Russia-1 TV channel", – it is said in the statement.
Also it is reported that about 70 thousand people took part in the voting on the choice of a name for the Tomsk airport on the website of the project. Most of them supported the nomination of the aircraft designer Nikolay Kamov (28745 voices), Rukavishnikov followed him with a margin in 275 voices, slightly more than 12 thousand people voted for Savinykh.
