TOMSK, Dec 11 – RIA Tomsk. Team of students from Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) showed the best result in the competitions of the CoSpace league, whose participants created universal software for virtual and real robots at the Asian-Pacific RoboCup Robotics Championship, the press service of the regional administration said on Tuesday.
Earlier it was reported that two teams from TUSUR and a team of Tomsk schoolchildren were included in the Russian delegation at the Asian-Pacific RoboCup Robotics Championship, which took place simultaneously at two venues: in Dubai (UAE) and on Kish Island (Iran). The co-chairman of the competition was the representative of TUSUR Evgeny Shandarov.
According to the press service, in the framework of the CoSpace league at the RoboCup Asia-Pacific Championship, participants had to create universal software for virtual and real robots. Testing and writing software occurs directly at the competition. Programs are used in wheeled robots that perform a task in rivalry mode.
"The TUSUR team won first place in the CoSpace league of the second super-regional RoboCup championship in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as first place in the CoSpace superteam challenge together with a team from China. The team from Tomsk University – is the only Russian member of the league. In competitions also participated the teams from South Korea, Iran, Singapore and China", – is said in the statement.
It is added that the TUSUR Hardwire Gen team also performed at RoboCup Asia-Pacific – students competed in the RoboCupJunior Soccer Open game. According to the results of performances, Tomsk citizens showed the best result among Russian teams in individual games: four wins and ninth place in the overall rating. In total in RoboCupJunior Soccer league competed 18 teams from Russia and Iran.It was also reported that RoboCup – is a non-commercial project to promote artificial intelligence, robotics, and other areas of science and technology through robotic competitions. From 2016 to 2018, TUSUR co-organized the stages of the RoboCup Russia Open championship, which took place in Tomsk. According to the university staff, RoboCup helps the development of educational robotics in the Russian Federation.
