TOMSK, Dec 21 – RIA Tomsk. The service of a taxi ordering via smartphone from the Uber company became available to Tomsk citizens on Friday; on the New Year holidays the aggregator promises big discounts to Tomsk citizens, the press service of Uber Russia reported.
According to the "Izvestia" newspaper, the Uber company founded in 2009 specializes in carriage of passengers and works as an information aggregator of taxi services. Also the publication cited statistics from the Analytical Center under the Government of the Russian Federation, according to which in 2017 aggregators, including Uber, Gett, Yandex.Taxi, occupied 32.8% of the taxi service market. The other share - is at traditional taxi services.
"In Tomsk (on December 21), Uber Russia service began work. Now city residents can order a car through the Uber Russia mobile app ... Until January 8, 2019, users can get discounts on travel up to 80% - to do this, call the car through Uber Russia mobile application, specifying the end point of the route", - is said in the statement.
It is noted that Uber is currently available to residents of more than 40 regions of Russia, working mainly in regional, republican and regional capitals.
Earlier it was reported that Yandex.Taxi and Gett services, which also allow to orde a taxi through a mobile application, officially began work in 2016.
