TOMSK, Jan 17 – RIA Tomsk. Scientists of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) develop technology and equipment of new generation for drawing bioactive coverings by method of microarc oxygenating on implants; works are financed within federal target program – on 32 million rubles within three years, head of Laboratory of Hybrid Biomaterials TPU Sergey Tverdokhlebov reported.
He specified that Ostiamed company (Moscow, Rybinsk) is the industrial partner of the project. Works started in 2017 and have to be completed until the end of 2019. The project is financed according to the FTP on the terms of joint financing: 16 million are annually invested by the industrial partner and TPU, the same amount comes from the Ministry of Education and Science.
"The industrial partner wants to receive as a result modern processing equipment for drawing of bioactive coverings on implants by method of microarc oxygenating. The company specializes in production of difficult medical products for restoration of functions of a musculoskeletal system of a person: coxofemoral joints, implants for spinal surgery", – Tverdokhlebov told.
He emphasized that implants with coverings allow patients to be restored quicker after the corresponding surgeries.
According to Tverdokhlebov, the existing domestic equipment for application of the method of microarc oxygenating are bulky installations which do not meet the modern requirements any more. Polytechnics develop equipment of new generation allowing to modify implants quickly with the most various biocoverings together with partners (LLC Mikrosplav).The scientist is sure that such advanced products can be applied as in civil, and military medical institutions: "Physicians from the Main Military Clinical Burdenko Hospital participate in the project. These are leading experts who make recommendations about production of these or those coverings. All their remarks and wishes are considered by us during creation of the equipment of new generation".

TPU is the largest technical college beyond the Urals. Since 2013 participates in the 5-100 program for improving competitiveness in the world. In five years rose in the rating of QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) from group 600 to the 373rd line in 2018.
In the subject ranking "Engineering and Technology" made by the British agency Times Higher Education (THE) in 2018 entered into group 201-250 and entered subject ranking "Computer science" (group 401-500) for the first time.
Also TPU enters the Shanghai ranking of the universities of the world (Academic Ranking of World Universities, ARWU) where takes the place in the 901-1000 group.
