TOMSK, Feb 20 – RIA Tomsk. More than 72 thousand foreign citizens got up on migration registration in the Tomsk region in 2018, 40% arrived from Uzbekistan; main objective of arrival to the region for foreigners are work (53%) and study (27%), the press service of region administration with reference to the deputy governor for security Igor Tolstonosov reports on Wednesday.
"In 2018 more than 72 thousand foreign citizens were on migration registration in the Tomsk region... Most of all visitors were from Uzbekistan (40%), Kazakhstan (22.3%), Kyrgyzstan (6.8%), Tajikistan (3.4%), Azerbaijan (3.3%), Ukraine (3.3%) and Armenia (2%). The share of foreigners from foreign countries exceeded 17%", – it is said in the statement.
3,312 foreign citizens live in the region on permissions to temporary stay (PTS, is necessary for obtaining the residence permit). More than 200 people returned to the country according to the program of voluntary resettlement of compatriots from abroad, the press service adds.
"Main objectives of migration to the Tomsk region are work and study, in percentage are 53% and 27% respectively", – the press service cites words of Tolstonosov.
Also it is reported that, according to law-enforcement services, in the sphere of illegal migration in 2018 in the region 457 crimes are revealed that is 1.7% less, than the previous year (465). The main violations are connected with the organization of illegal migration, fictitious registration, production and sale of counterfeit documents. Foreign citizens and persons without citizenship in 2018 committed 109 crimes (decrease by 10.7%).Earlier it was reported that the Tomsk region in 2019 received 800 quota for registration of permission to temporary stay (PTS). The previous year the quota made 1000 permissions.
Also it was reported that the migrants living in the territory of the Tomsk region in 2017 committed 122 crimes that is 7% less, than the previous year; the number of robberies and thefts was most of all reduced. Besides, in 2017 foreigners violated the administrative code more than 4 thousand. It was written out penalties for the total amount about 10 million rubles, 8 million rubles it was succeeded to collect.
