TOMSK, Feb 28 – RIA Tomsk. The department of forestry of the Tomsk region rescinded lease agreements for five forest areas with LLC "Jingye International Investment Company"; the tenant initiated the cancellation of the document, the press service of the regional administration reported on Thursday.
It is reported that in 2017-2018 the Chinese corporation leased five forest areas in Asino, Verkhneketsk and Kargasok districts of the Tomsk region. At the beginning of February 2019 the tenant applied to the forestry department with a request to prepare agreements on the termination of concluded contracts.
"Contractual relations with the Chinese tenant on five forest areas were declared terminated from February 15 (2019). By now, the document has already passed the procedure of mandatory state registration. The tenant, according to the terms of the signed agreement, returned the property received on the basis of the agreement", – is said in the statement.
According to the regional administration, the forest land of the Tomsk region is 28.8 million hectares. Currently, there are 183 forest lease agreements in the region, 5% of them are leased by companies with foreign capital.
