TOMSK, Mar 12 – RIA Tomsk. The Swiss company Daedalean started developing of universal software for flying unmanned vehicles, virtual training grounds will be created using the Tomsk 3D platform UNIGINE, the director of the Unigine Corp Denis Shergin told RIA Tomsk.

Earlier it was reported that the UNIGINE 2 Sim platform is designed for interactive 3D-visualization, that is, to create a virtual reality. The Tomsk solution is used by more than 200 companies around the world in professional training systems (sea, land, air, space, computer vision).
"The Swiss company Daedalean began to develop control algorithms for unmanned aerial vehicles, they will be trained in virtual grounds created on our platform UNIGINE 2 Sim. In particular, using the platform, our partners are developing a software solution for computer vision training", – Shergin told.
According to him, in 2018, a Swiss startup team made several notable technical advances: introduced high-precision navigation based on computer vision in situations when GPS does not work, and developed a solution which allows an unmanned aerial vehicle to choose a safe place to land and detect obstacles in real time.

On the website of the Unigine Corp company it is specified that now both the large global companies and startups are involved in the race to develop the best solutions of the flying car:
"The main problem of all developers – is how to make autonomous vehicles safe. Using a virtual environment to train drone aircraft before releasing them on real roads allows to create various emergency scenarios without risk and high costs, and also to train computer vision components at an early stage of development, without ready-made prototype of the aircraft".
"We started working on our product with another popular 3D engine, but it did not support double coordinate accuracy (64-bit). For us, this characteristic is very important because we need to simulate long-haul flights. Therefore, we chose UNIGINE 2 Sim for our development", – the head of the training direction in Daedalean Grigory Yakushev is quoted.
