TOMSK, Jun 4 – RIA Tomsk. Russia's first international school of sciences devoted to new research approach – to sequencing of single cells of organism opened in the Tomsk State University (TSU); this way of researches offers big prospects in studying of features of cancer development and reasons of tumors resistance to therapy, press service of TSU reports on Tuesday.
According to the press service, sequencing of single cells is a trend in modern biology and medicine. The method allows to study a molecular portrait of each cell separately as a part of difficult arranged body tissues. This way of researches opens opportunities for identification unknown before cellular processes at formation of tumors and their reaction to antineoplastic therapy.
"The Russia's first international school of sciences devoted to sequencing of single cells began work in Tomsk … 20 young people of the Russian scientists take part in the school. <...> By means of this approach scientists plan to obtain new fundamental data that will allow to create effective test systems for diagnosis of oncological diseases, to reveal them at early stage", – it is said in the statement.
It is noted that within the school young researchers will listen to lectures of the leading scientists in the field of cellular sorting, biology of the circulating tumor cells (CTC), preparation of libraries from single cages and their sequencing. The format of the event provides also a practical training.
"Young scientists will be able to get acquainted with operation of the device 10th Genomics intended for preparation of single cells for sequencing, and sequencing will be executed on NextSeq500 platform. The data obtained during sequencing will form a basis for demonstration of modern methods of the bioinformatics analysis to participants of school", – it is said in the statement.
In conclusion of work of the international school its participants will take part in a round table with reports on results of own researches.
