TOMSK, Jun 20 – RIA Tomsk. The Tomsk research and production company "Micran" launched a third-generation mobile network – 3G – in a rural area near the city of Barra do Chapéu (the state of São Paulo, Brazil), the CEO of the company Vera Paramonova reported RIA Tomsk on Thursday.
According to her, work with Brazil in partnership with a major international mobile telecom operator Telefonica began in 2016. The main objective of the project was to provide a 3G connection to the countryside from the nearby city of Barra do Chapéu in the state of São Paulo.
"A large distance between two radio-relay stations required high power and noise immunity. To solve this problem, the Y-Packet 2 digital radio-relay station was used, operating not only in the traditional Russian frequency bands from 5 to 23 GHz, but also in unlicensed 2.2 and 4 GHz", – Paramonova said.
She noted that the proposed solution provided high bandwidth (170 Mbit/s) and a secure network without installing an intermediate radio relay station, which did not require high capital and operating expenses."Last year, with the participation of our company and a partner from Brazil, were held negotiations in Madrid, where a presentation of our decision was held, which interested the technical service of the head office of Telefonica", – the interlocutor of the agency noted.
There are all the prerequisites, Paramonova added, that this case will expand and find application not only in Latin America, but also in other regions of presence of the international company Telefonica. Micran’s equipment is also used in the largest Brazilian oil and gas company – Petrobras. Collaborations with a subsidiary of Telecom Italia – TIM Brasil are underway.
