TOMSK, Jul 1 – RIA Tomsk. Organizers of the Tomsk festival "Ax Day" finished competitive selection of participants of 2019; masters from Ireland, Turkey, Armenia, Ukraine, Philippines and Switzerland will fight for the victory among 140 contestants in the Wooden Skill nomination for the first time, the press service of the region administration reported on Monday.
Earlier it was reported that the international festival of national crafts "Ax Day" will take place from August 20 to August 25 in the rural park "Okolitsa" near Tomsk (village Zorkaltsevo). In 2019 applications for the competition of carvers and carpenters arrived from 200 masters from 38 countries of the world.
As the press service of the regional administration reports, following the results of competitive selection 140 masters from 23 countries of the world and 21 regions of Russia are invited for participation in the XII festival. They will fight in the Wooden Skill nomination.
"Carpenters from Turkey, Armenia, Ukraine, Ireland, Philippines, Switzerland and the strongest masters from Yakutia, the Kirov region and the Republic of Adygea will arrive for the Ax Day for the first time", – the director of association "Ax Day" Denis Lykhin is quoted in the message.It is added that all winners and prize-winners of the festival-2018 are among participants of this year. The reserve list of participants is also created. Earlier it was reported that masters from 23 regions of Russia (20 in 2018) and 82 foreigners showed willingness (69 in 2018) to arrive for the Ax Day.
"75 works will be made within the competition. Organizers of the festival made the decision not to limit masters to a certain subject, and to give the chance to realize the most interesting ideas in the Siberian tree", – it is said in the statement.
