TOMSK, Jan 27 – RIA Tomsk. Screenings of films participating in the French-speaking film festival MyFrenchFilmFestival will start in Tomsk on Monday; within a week Tomsk citizens will be able to see films on various topics - from feelings to geopolitical conflicts, one of the organizers of the event Konstantin Olehnovich told RIA Tomsk.
He specified that the festival of French-speaking cinema will be held in the cafe "Kafedra" ("Department") (Lenin Avenue, 79) from January 27 to February 2. Admission to events is free, but registration is required on the cafe website, where it's also possible to get acquainted with the festival program. Beginning at 17.00, except Thursday - 18.00 and Sunday - 19.00.
"MyFrenchFilmFestival (festival) - is a new concept aimed at promoting the young generation of French filmmakers. Once a year for one month this festival becomes accessible to everyone around the world. In Tomsk we are the only ones who show the pictures of the festival", - Olehnovich said.
He added that every day of the festival will be thematic. On Monday there will be humorous films, on Tuesday - films on geopolitical conflicts, on Wednesday - dedicated to young people. On Thursday, viewers will be able to learn about the regions of France, on Friday to reflect on the line between dream and reality, on Saturday to watch cartoons, and on Sunday - to admire women.
“The program has a wide range of films - we will show both full-length films, short films, and animated films. In general, everyone will find something to their liking”, - he noted.
The agency’s interlocutor also specified that knowledge of the French language is not necessary to participate in the festival - films will be shown with Russian subtitles. After each picture viewers will be able to express their opinion about the film and discuss with each other.
