TOMSK, Jun 19 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University (TSU) and Huawei signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of education; the company plans to pay personal scholarships to students, graduate students of TSU and their supervisors, and the university will assist in the training of promising personnel, the TSU press service said on Friday.
It was previously reported that in November 2019, the leadership of TSU held talks with representatives of the Chinese company Huawei on joint testing of new technologies. In addition, the company became interested in the development of chemists and mathematicians of the university and was ready to pay scholarships to talented students of the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science of TSU.
According to the press service, on Friday, June 19, Huawei and Tomsk State University signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of education.
"Huawei has established personal scholarships for outstanding undergraduate and graduate students in technical specialties. The company will also support promising research on topics in the field of information and communication technologies and basic sciences, paying scholarships to postgraduate students, as well as their supervisors", - the statement said.
According to the press service, Huawei will also hold several open lectures and workshops to exchange knowledge in the field of new advanced technologies and increase the interest of TSU students in the research process.TSU, for its part, will assist Huawei in the training of promising personnel and the formation of the educational ecosystem. The agreement was signed on June 19, 2020 by representatives of the parties.
It is planned that such cooperation will allow, among other things, to prepare personnel for the company: "Understanding the interests of companies, we can adjust the educational tracks of students, adding what is demanded by employers, and enriching our knowledge assets", - the rector of TSU Eduard Galazhinsky is quoted.
