TOMSK, Jul 7 – RIA Tomsk. TSU bring together mathematicians and computer science experts from Russia, the USA and Europe to a conference under the auspices of the Big University of Tomsk; experts will discuss IT trends, including for development of the world's economic systems in a pandemic, the chairman of the event's organizing committee Svetlana Moiseeva told RIA Tomsk.
According to her, the conference "Mathematics and software of information, technical and economic systems" was first held at Tomsk State University in 2013. In 2020 it received international status and was supposed to be held in May in full-time format. However, due to the pandemic, the organizers held only a three-day remote conference in the spring, scheduling personal meetings in the fall.
"From October 1 to October 3, we have planned the in-person stage of the conference and have already opened online registration. Students and representatives of universities, IT companies from Russia and other countries are invited. We have already registered participants from Russia, Italy, Portugal, India, France, the USA , Finland", – she said.
Moiseeva added that the in-person format of the conference involves at least 300 participants. It will be held under the auspices of the Big University of Tomsk.
Versatile IT
Conference participants will present the results of their core projects and will be able to listen to lectures by leading experts.
"Each participating university has strong projects. For example, at the TSU Institute of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science these are IT trends and “cross-cutting technologies”(artificial intelligence, IoT, big data, machine learning, virtual and augmented reality). Along with well-known scientists, studens and postgraduate students of Tomsk universities will present their research in these and other areas", – Moiseeva explained.
She added that, among the announced reports from nonresident participants, the development of the IT sphere for the economic, social and other spheres of our life in a pandemic is already listed.
It was previously reported that the "Big University" project was launched in the Tomsk region in 2019. It involves all universities and research institutes with the preservation of autonomy and legal independence.
