TOMSK, Oct 1 – RIA Tomsk. The governor of the Tomsk region, the president of the football club Tom Sergey Zhvachkin set a task for the new head coach Alexandr Kerzhakov to keep the team in the Russian Football National League, the press service of the regional administration reported on Thursday.
According to the press service, the governor held a working meeting with the new coach of the players Kerzhakov, at which the potential of the players, mood of the athletes, possibility of strengthening the team and the coaching staff, and development of the material and technical base of the club were discussed. The governor also set tasks for the new coach.
"The main task for our Tom for this season - is to keep the team in the Football National League. There are resources for this, and you have all in your hands", - Zhvachkin's words addressed to Kerzhakov are quoted in the message.
Earlier, in response to an official request from RIA Tomsk, the deputy governor of the Tomsk region Sergey Ilinykh said that in 2020 FC Tom received a total of 563 million rubles from PJSC Gazprom and PJSC Gazprom Neft.
Earlier it was also reported that according to the results of 11 rounds of the FNL 2020/2021 season, Tom occupies the last line of the standings: it did not win a single victory and has only three points in the standings for the games played in a draw. After the 7th round, the contract with the head coach of the team Vasily Baskakov was terminated, and ex-shooter of Zenit and the Russian national team, senior coach of the national youth team of Russia Alexandr Kerzhakov was invited to take his place. The contract with him is signed until the end of the season.
