TOMSK, Nov 11 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) became a resident of the Telecommunication Technologies consortium; participation in the association will allow the university to develop high-tech industries and training for them, the university's press service said on Wednesday.
According to the press service, the status of the consortium resident makes it possible to establish the necessary production ties, attract funding and government support for the launch of Russian-made telecommunications products on the market.
"Telecommunication Technologies consortium is a very important and valuable platform, thanks to which TUSUR, in conjunction with industrial partners, will be able to bring the results of work in the area of "Communication Systems and Microelectronics" in the Tomsk region to a new level and compete with world companies, creating new technologies and products, training highly professional personnel in the field of microwave and nanoelectronics, radio-photonics", – Rector Victor Rulevsky is quoted.
According to him, participation in the consortium will help to establish mutually beneficial cooperation with partners for the development of high-tech industries at the regional and federal levels, as well as expand the presence of domestic high-tech products in the global market.
According to the university, today in the world-class research and educational center (REC), which is being formed in Tomsk, the direction "Communication systems and microelectronics", which is supervised by TUSUR, is one of the leading. Within the framework of this direction a unique infrastructure will be formed in the region (including the Center for Microelectronic Systems, which will be opened on the basis of TUSUR).The Telecommunication Technologies consortium was created by the "Sozvezdie" ("Constellation") concern (part of the Ruselectronics holding of the Rostec State Corporation), RTK TsRI LLC (part of Rostelecom PJSC) and the Element group of companies with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in December 2019 with the aim of forming conditions for the implementation of the state strategy in the field of import substitution and the development of domestic production of radioelectronic products for the telecommunications industry.
