TOMSK, Nov 23 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University (TSU) will launch a service based on artificial intelligence (AI), designed to find job for students and graduates of the university in 2021; the system will collect data on student success in the course of study, compile a CV and search for vacancies, the university's website said on Monday.
It is specified that in the spring of 2020, in the conditions of the coronavirus pandemic, TSU launched the Uniprofi student exchange, where students could find work within the walls of the university. At the first stage, the exchange offered vacancies for tutors-technicians of online courses, marketers of electronic resources of the TSU Research Library, developers of websites and applications. In the future, the university decided to develop this direction.
“We make an online service based on an AI recommendation system. It will collect data about students from Uniprofi, Moodle systems, where it is noted how a student learns, how he passes the exams, as well as from the internal management systems of the university. Comparison of data will allow to form a digital profile of the student, his CV", - the director of the Supercomputing Center of TSU Sergey Orlov is quoted in the message.
It is added that this approach will give the employer the opportunity to see what skills the student has acquired during the training. The system will also recommend vacancies to students. According to Orlov, the service is being developed jointly with an industrial partner, HeadHunter, within the framework of the "Digital University" project. The service is planned to be launched in 2021."Soon a new service will appear in the student's personal account - a CV builder. Thus, in one place it will be possible not only to view grades and schedules, but also to look for work", - head of the HeadHunter youth department Irina Svyatitskaya said.
Earlier it was reported that in 2019 TSU won a grant to create a "Digital University" under the "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation" national program (TUSUR and TPU also participated in the formation of the application), the digital solutions of the project will be extended to the campus of these three Tomsk universities. Now, using the grant funds, Tomsk universities are jointly developing new educational technologies and competencies for the digital economy.
