TOMSK, Dec 2 – RIA Tomsk, Anna Glushenkova. The RAEX rating agency for the first time published a series of subject rankings, including leading Russian universities in various areas; Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) entered the top 5 best universities in the country in the areas of "Mechanical Engineering and Robotics" and "Engineering and Technology", the university’s press service said.
It is specified that the first subject ranking of Russian universities according to RAEX includes 10 areas: mathematics, physics and astronomy, information technology, engineering and technology, mechanical engineering and robotics, construction and architecture, medicine, economics and management, agriculture, humanities.
"In the list of universities in the direction of "Mechanical Engineering and Robotics" TPU took the third place, gaining 61,9 points. Only Bauman Moscow State Technical University and ITMO University are ahead. In addition, in the direction of "Engineering and Technology", Tomsk Polytechnic University became the fourth with a result of 65,2 points", – is said in the message.
According to the TPU press service, three factors influenced the position of universities in subject rankings - the level of applicants, scientific publications, as well as the assessments of universities during reputation surveys.Earlier it was reported that in 2020, in the ninth annual ranking of the 100 best universities in Russia according to the RAEX agency, TPU took the ninth place. In 2019, the university took the seventh place in the overall ranking.
It was also reported that in March 2020 there were four Tomsk universities – State (the 17th place) and Polytechnic (the 20th place) universities, as well as University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (the 58th place) and Siberian State Medical University (the 60th place) entered the first ranking of the most influential universities in Russia according to the RAEX agency.
