Biathlete from Tomsk took gold in the relay at the World Cup

TOMSK, Jan 10 – RIA Tomsk. The Russian national biathlon team, which includes a native of the Tomsk region Svetlana Mironova, won the mixed relay at the World Cup in Oberhof, Germany, Izvestia reported on Sunday.

"The Russian national biathlon team won the mixed relay at the fifth stage of the Biathlon World Cup in Oberhof. Uliana Kaisheva, Svetlana Mironova, Alexander Loginov and ran as part of the Russian team", - reports Izvestia.

It is added that the second place was taken by the Norwegian team, 0,7 seconds behind the Russians at the finish. The French came the third, losing more than 12 seconds.

Earlier it was reported that Mironova was born on February 22, 1994 in the village of Moryakovsky Zaton near Tomsk. From the age of seven she was engaged in the ski section with the coach Nikolay Losev, then switched to biathlon. In the ninth grade, she was twice champion of the Tomsk region in cross-country skiing, and at the age of 17 she became a candidate for master of sports in skiing and biathlon.

In 2011 she moved to Yekaterinburg. She made her debut in the Biathlon World Cup as part of the Russian national team in the 2016/2017 season, and in 2019 she topped the rating of Russian biathletes.
