TOMSK, Jan 22 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk Forum of Young Scientists U-NOVUS in 2021 will be held online and offline; important topics of discussion at it will be the connection between science and industry, as well as modern approaches to the construction of university campuses in Russia, Deputy Governor Andrey Antonov told reporters on Friday.
Earlier it was reported that U-NOVUS has been held annually in Tomsk since 2014. At the 2018 forum, it was decided to change the format and organize workshops, networking and design sessions instead of traditional panel discussions, round tables and reports. In 2020, the forum did not take place due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"It is planned to hold the U-NOVUS forum (in 2021)... The topic will be devoted to the connection between science and industry. The Ministry of Science and Higher Education asks us to become a federal platform for discussing modern approaches to the construction of university campuses, because we are planning one of the federal projects related to the campus", – the deputy governor said.
He specified that the exact date of the forum is still unknown. U-NOVUS events will be held in online and offline venues.
Earlier it was reported that in 2019 the regional administration, VEB.RF and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education agreed on the implementation in Tomsk of a pilot project for the construction of an inter-university campus within the framework of the "Education" national project. The campus will be able to accept 20 thousand students and will become a joint facility of the universities of the "Big University" of Tomsk. Specialists will present a roadmap for the inter-university campus in February 2021.
