TOMSK, Jul 14 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) will receive a subsidy to create a regional center for collective design of ultra-high-frequency and photonic integrated circuits and modules; the center will "test" microelectronics production technologies at the request of industrial enterprises, the university's press service said.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian government will allocate about 100 billion rubles to support domestic microelectronics production, the state program will stipulate uniform requirements for equipment technological compatibility. Tomsk universities and technological companies will take part in preparing the list of requirements. This was announced by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during his visit to Tomsk.
"In 2021, TUSUR will receive a targeted subsidy to create a regional center for collective design of ultra-high-frequency and photonic integrated circuits and modules on the basis of the university. The new center will serve as a technological testing area, as well as (deal with) personnel training in the conditions of the real production process", says the report.
The state subsidy funds will be used to purchase new technological, assembly, control and measuring equipment by the end of the year, which will expand TUSUR's capabilities in the creation of microwave microelectronics, radio photonics, microwave and optical modules, the introduction of additive (printed) technologies for the production of elements of new equipment.
"It is important that the center is created open, not closed only to our university. This will allow us to put together cross-industry projects with the participation of our colleagues from TSU and TPU, scientific institutes of SB RAS, Micran company as a key industrial partner... (The task of the center is to create) a complete chain of electronic products production," the press service quotes TUSUR Rector Victor Rulevsky.
The design center will be located on the premises of two TUSUR subdivisions - Nanotechnology Research and Education Center and Research Institute of Microelectronic Systems. In the future, the new center of collective design should enter the structure of a multidisciplinary Center for Microelectronic Systems, which TUSUR plans to create by 2024, the report said.
Earlier it was also reported that TUSUR will create a Center for Microelectronic Systems on the model of the Nanotechnology Center of Polytechnic University of Milan. It is planned to be built in the next five years. It will combine a regional design center for design of microelectronic equipment, a testing laboratory and an educational center. The project is estimated at 700 million rubles.
