TOMSK, Aug 18 – RIA Tomsk. More than one thousand people took part in in-person and remote events of the U-NOVUS forum of young scientists during its first month and a half, an employee of the press service of Tomsk State University (TSU), one of the forum's organizers, told RIA Tomsk on Wednesday.
It was previously reported that U-NOVUS has been held annually in Tomsk since 2014. At the 2018 forum, it was decided to change the format and organize workshops, networking and design sessions instead of traditional panel discussions, round tables and reports. In 2020, the forum did not take place due to the coronavirus pandemic. In 2021, U-NOVUS started on July 1 and will run until September 30.
"All events are held in a mixed format - online and offline. We had planned that about one thousand people would take part in them until September 30, but this bar has already been crossed," the agency's interlocutor said.
Earlier it was reported that the main topics of the forum were linking science and industry, as well as modern approaches to the construction of university campuses in Russia.Round tables on advanced technologies for life safety, engineering biology, global climate change and quality of life are among the events that have already taken place. Announcements of upcoming events are published on the forum website.
Earlier, TSU Rector Eduard Galazhinsky said that in a mixed format, dictated in part by the pandemic, the forum organizers see opportunities to attract a large number of young scientists, students and experts to U-NOVUS events.
