TOMSK, Sep 13 – RIA Tomsk. Novolex Holding Company on Monday started the construction of a new terminal of internal lines of Tomsk airport; the work should be completed by the summer of 2023, RIA Tomsk correspondent reports from the scene.
Earlier it was reported that the Novaport airport network will invest about 2 billion rubles in the construction of a new terminal of internal lines of Tomsk airport. The investor is to build a terminal with two telescopic ramps, which meets all European standards. The winner of the tender was Novolex Holding Company, the contract amount is 2.45 billion rubles.
"The new terminal is twice as deep as the current one. Life has changed today, its pace has increased, and the station complex should become a full-fledged resting place for passengers before their departure... The construction will not take long; we have planned 16 to 18 months and the contractor has already started the work. By the season of 2023, we will complete (the work)," Sergey Rudakov, Novaport's general director, said at the ceremony.
Present at the ceremony, Governor of the Tomsk region Sergey Zhvachkin noted that the new airport complex will eventually serve domestic flights, while the old airport will operate on foreign lines.
"Today we start (construction) work on the construction of the new air harbor of the Tomsk region. In addition to what has already been done, work has started today on the construction of the new airport terminal complex... We have practically doubled the volume of passenger traffic in six years. And I am sure that we will reach the level of 1 million passengers a year," he said.
The Tomsk airport complex renovation project is being implemented in three stages. The first stage involves upgrading the runway (the Russian government has allotted 3 billion rubles for that). In addition, work is being done on repairing the access roads to the airport at the expense of the regional budget. At the third stage, it is planned to build a new passenger terminal, the governor reminded.
As previously reported, in 2020, including due to pandemic COVID-19, passenger traffic at Tomsk airport dropped to 348.5 thousand people (in 2019 - 750 thousand). In the summer of 2021, the airport began reconstruction of the runway and flights on interregional flights from August 3 to September 25 were limited to a day a week - from 6 a.m. Sunday to 09 a.m. Monday. Intraregional flights have been restricted since August 28.
According to the SPARK-Interfax analytical system, OOO Holding Company Novolex was established in Novosibirsk in 2009. It is engaged in architecture and engineering surveys and provides technical consultancy in these areas. In 2020, the company's revenues exceeded 3 billion rubles and its net profit was almost 123 million rubles. The organization employed 17 people.
