TOMSK, July 1– RIA Tomsk. Tomsk University of control systems and radio electronics (TUSUR) is the youngest higher education institution of Tomsk. It was created in April, 1962 and got the name of Institute of Radio Electronics and Electronic Equipment.
33 departments were created at the institute.
In 1971 Institute of Radio Electronics and Electronic Equipment was renamed as Tomsk institute of automated control systems and radio electronics (TIASUR). In 1993 the institute is renamed again as the state academy of control systems and radio electronics (TASUR).
The modern name Tomsk University of control systems and radio electronics received in 1997.
Now 13 faculties, eight research institutes, four branches, Institute of innovates, Institute of system integration and safety, the Center of professional retraining, the Center of the international IT preparation, Academy of business informatics are a part of the university.
In 2004 TUSUR opened the first in Russia student's business incubator.
12,5 thousand students study at the university. Training of specialists and engineers is conducted on specialties and directions in the field of radio engineering, information security, electronic and computer facilities, programming, automatic equipment and control systems, information technologies, economy and social work.
Preparation of the research and educational personnel is conducted in postgraduate study and doctoral studies, in higher education institution four dissertation councils function.
The faculty totals 69 professors, doctors of science, 234 associate professors, candidates of science, 181 teachers. 22 doctors of science from other higher education institutions of Tomsk and institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences are also involved in teaching work.
