TOMSK, Aug 5 – RIA Tomsk. Siberian state medical university (SSMU) created a group of students from foreign countries who for the first time will study "General Medicine" in English, the head of the recruitment department Tatyana Saprina told to journalists.

It was reported earlier that in autumn 2014 SSMU and Tomsk state pedagogical university (TSPU) signed the cooperation agreement, creation of the center which is specialized in medical English was one of aspects. Before foreigners were taught in SSMU, but they studied Russian at the same time.

"Now we have course "General Medicine" for citizens from foreign countries. This year we create such group of students for the first time; there are 15 students from India, Nigeria, Egypt and Colombia. Many higher education institutions are already do it", – Saprina told.

Representatives of other Tomsk higher education institutions told that, foreigners come to Tomsk Polytechnic University to study power engineering and nuclear physics, and to Tomsk State University to study Russian and philology.

Moreover students from foreign countries come to TSPU for the first time. They are representatives of Congo, Indonesia and Mali. Citizens of Yemen and Morocco entered Tomsk State University of Architecture and Construction.

According to the regional administration, there are 23,67 thousand entrants wishing to enter Tomsk universities in 2015 – it is nearly 2,5 thousand more, than in the previous year. There are 8,47 thousand entrants from Tomsk region – it is 769 more in comparison with last year.
