TOMSK, Jan 18 – RIA Tomsk. The
All-Russian selection round of the international world robots
championship RoboCup will take place in Tomsk in March 2016. It will be
one of the main stages of preparation for holding the World Cup, which
the region plans to host in the 2018th, the vice rector for scientific
work and innovations of TUSUR Roman Meshcheryakov reported.
It
was reported earlier, that the regional authorities and the Minister of
Education of the Russian Federation Dmitry Livanov approved the project
of holding the World Cup-2018 in robofootball RoboCup in Tomsk. Teams
of three Tomsk higher education institutions – TUSUR, Tomsk Pedagogical
and Polytechnic universities – started preparing for the championship.

"One
of planned actions, which will be carried out together with the
administration of Tomsk region, higher education institutions and
schools, is the Russian open championship among robots. One of the
directions was chosen, preparation is conducted. Competitions in Tomsk
are planned for March 2016. Carrying out the international final of
RoboCup in 2018 will become the final of this activity," - Meshcheryakov
told.
He noted that
now negotiations with the management of the championship are conducted.
Teams of the higher education institutions (TUSUR, Tomsk State
Pedagogical University, and Tomsk Polytechnic University) and schools
prepare for the competitions in Tomsk.
According
to the regulations of RoboCup, the competition, which take place in
March, is national selection round. Winners will be allowed to
participation in the international cup-final. It was reported earlier,
that Tomsk robotics reached the world final for several years, having
won selection rounds in other countries.
