TOMSK, Jan 19 – RIA Tomsk. The nanocovering, developed in Tomsk, which will protect illuminators of the spaceships from micrometeorites and space debris, will be used on all Russian devices, and glasses will be processed in Tomsk, the press service of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) reports.
It was reported earlier that the covering is developed by scientists of TPU and Institute of Strength Physics and Materials Science (ISPMS) of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science. It disseminates energy of blow of high-speed particles effectively, thereby preventing craters formation on a surface of the glass, which worse optical characteristics.
"The first consignment of the glasses for illuminators with unique optically transparent coverings, developed by Tomsk scientists, is delivered by RSC "Energy". In the future all glasses for illuminators of all Russian spaceships of new generation will be processed in Tomsk", – it is told in the message.

It is noted that TPU and ISPMS finished development of the coverings for illuminators. The antimeteoric transparent coverings have no analogs in the world. When bombing microparticles with a speed of 5-8 kilometers per second, the quantity of the formed craters sharply decreases, that allows glass to keep the optical properties and transparency.
"We in partnership with RSC, TPU and ISPMS will open a technological site on the antimeteor coverings soon. And the glasses for illuminators of all spaceships, including new generation, will be processed in Tomsk", – head of the TPU chair of physics of high technologies in mechanical engineering, the director of ISPMS Sergey Psakhye is quoted in the message.
It is planned that a complex of the processing and test equipment will be established in the Campus on a site of 150-200 square meters. It will become part of the big network distributed engineering center, which is created for the solution of actual tasks of space branch in cooperation of TPU-ISPMS.
