its strategy of development to the International council of the "5-100"
program; the rector of the university Edward Galazhinsky and his team
presented the "road map" of the university’s new educational model, the
press-service of the university informed RIA Tomsk on Saturday.
According
to the press-service, directors and leading scientists of TSU on
Saturday spoke at the International council program to improve the
competitiveness of Russian universities. TSU presented to the
international experts the development plan for the next two years – the
"road map" which will allow the university to take a more prominent
position on the international scientific and educational space.
"Defence
was held traditionally fast – 10 minutes are for presentation and 30
are – for discussion. This year we have decided to allow speaking to all
members of our group to reflect as much as possible reached results and
our ideas. <…> We managed to show that we move forward as united
team, the council responded to our performance positively", – the
press-service quoted Galazhinsky.
By his estimation, both
performance, and discussion passed on a benevolent, constructive wave.
"Results of the "road map"defence will be published in the near future",
– the rector concluded.

It is specified that TSU "road map" in
2016 is based on a new educational model in which frameworks at the
university are created the centres of the world level highly-skilled
personnel training on the basis of the advanced scientific researches
with the involvement of the world's leading companies. It will allow to
reach a new level and to achieve the main goal of TSU – to become the
university working on improvement of quality of life.
In total
in TSU are to be created five strategic academic units: Institute of
Biomedicine, Institute of the Human of the Digital Era, Institute of
Smart Materials and Technology, TSSW: Siberian Institute of the Future
and Institute of Innovation, Economics and Management.
Earlier it
was informed that in 2015 the successful presentation of the results
and prospects of the university work to the International council of the
program "5-100" has allowed TSU to receive the maximum funding for the
year. This has given to the university the opportunity to realise many
plans, including attraction to Tomsk of foreign experts to guide the
research teams of TSU, as well as increasing the number of students from
abroad.
