"The project on creation of independent submersibles for works in the Arctic shelf. It was mentioned that the Arctic issues are of current interest. The issue has already passed from scientific into the applied area. In September real Arctic expedition, where the device with our software is to be checked, will take place", – Sonkin has told.
He has noted that the project concerning independent submersibles needs not only developments of TPU, but also other Tomsk higher education institutions, and also innovative enterprises.
Earlier it was reported that TPU realizes the "Telecommunication Systems of Monitoring and Management for Independent Underwater Robots" megaproject. Scientists create hardware and software for new generation of the independent uninhabited submersibles (IUS). Scientists have to provide a complex of the equipment for underwater tests in Vladivostok in 2016.
