TOMSK, Apr 18 – RIA Tomsk. The
first Russian RoboCup competitions, the winner of which will receive the
opportunity to participate in the world cup-final on robotics, will be held at
the platform of the Tomsk Palace of shows and sport, the press service of the
regional administration has reported.
Earlier it was informed that the project of holding the World Cup 2018 on
robofootball RoboCup in Tomsk is approved by the regional authorities and the
Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Dmitry Livanov. The
competitions RoboCup of 2016 in Tomsk will be held as national selection round,
the winners of which will be able to participate in the international cup
final.
"Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR)
has started preparation of the platform, <…> where will pass the national
stage of RoboCup Russia Open 2016. <…> As the venue for the event the
Palace of shows and sport was chosen", - said in the message.
It is specified that on the area more than 1,3 thousand square meters will be
prepared a scene for dances of robots, two arenas for competitions of robots
rescuers and four — for football matches of wheel robots, and also the field
for friendly matches in leagues of android robots.

According to the regional administration, about 300 people will compete in
three directions: Junior Soccer (soccer of robots), Junior Rescue (competition
of robots rescuers), Junior Dance (the dramatized shows). TUSUR experts will
comment on tournaments, explaining the audience the intricacies of the game.
"The RoboCup format assumes the carrying out of excursions, where
organizers and participants tell about an essence of competitions and about how
the robots presented in disciplines of RoboCup will serve people on production
and at home", - are quoted in the message the representative of national
committee RoboCup, the Head of Laboratory TUSUR Evgeny Shandarov.
The third forum of young scientists U-NOVUS will be held on May 12-13, 2016 in
Tomsk and will be devoted to robotics subject. Among the planned events of the
forum are the opening of the Siberian center of robotics, the national stage of
international competitions in robotics RoboCup Russia Open 2016, All-Russian
Science Game and "ball of robots".
