TOMSK, May 10 – RIA Tomsk. More than 300 scientists from Russia and 13
other countries will present the works within the international forum
"Nanoworkshop" which begins to work in Tomsk Polytechnic University
(TPU) on Tuesday, Roman Ostvald, deputy vice rector on scientific work and
innovations reported at the opening ceremony of the forum.
Earlier it was reported that the international forum "Nanoworkshop"
will take place in TPU on May 10-15. Scientists will discuss the last
achievements in such areas as nanotechnologies and nanomaterials.
"We have about 300 registered participants, including Tomsk State
University, TPU, (Tomsk scientific center) Academy of Sciences. But people
still register now. At the time of closing of the registration there were 14
countries: Russia, the CIS, Europe, Asia, the USA", – Deputy vice rector
told.

As Ostvald specified, the forum consists of two stages: On May 10 and 11
there will pass the school for young scientists "Nanostructural
materials". Within lectures and master classes of 19 experts-scientists
with a world name will consider researches of participants and will help to
correct them if it will be necessary. Three quotas for the publication in the
high-rating magazine on nanotechnologies will become one of "first
prizes" of the school.
The VII International conference "Nanoparticles, nanostructural
coverings and microcontainers: technologies, properties, application" will
become the second stage of the forum. It will take place on May 12-15 in a
traditional format. "Adult" scientists will also become conferees,
not just young people.
In turn professor of Queen Mary University of London Gleb Sukhorukov told
that for the first time "Nanoworkshop" took place in 2007, it is
carried out annually in the new city. The school of young scientists took place
for the first time last year when Saratov hold the forum.
