30 – RIA Tomsk. Scientists of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) have developed
the modeling complex by means of which it is possible to create the virtual
copy of the real electropower station for carrying out various tests, including
working off of emergencies, the press service of the university reported on
Monday.
It is
specified that in the working electric power system (EPS) no experiments are
allowed. However power engineering specialists systematically need to check how
the new equipment of stations will work, to test equipment after repair, and
also to check whether will lead this or that change in system to accident or
other undesirable consequences.
"TPU
scientific have developed the "Variable speed modeling real time complex
of electric power systems" for the solution of this problem. By means of
the complex we create the mathematical model of the power system, which
recreates the properties of the real one, and we conduct all necessary
researches. So, we don't need to put real electrical power system at
unnecessary risks", – are quoted in the message words of associate
professor of the university Mikhail Andreyev.

It is
specified that there are developments of similar appointment, but calculation
methods at analogs have restrictions in EPS sizes and time of modeling.
"This gives rise to a large and uncontrolled errors. The complex of
polytechnicians minimizes such risk of a methodical error. It is based on TPU
own patented technology", – is said in the message.
Developers
have already created a prototype of the modeling complex. According to the
university, the system will be able to show how EES "will behave"
itself in a real situation if to equip it with the new equipment, to increase
or reduce capacities. With its help it is possible to plan repair, to
investigate methods of increase of energy efficiency of EES, to test
antiemergency automatic equipment.
