TOMSK, Jun 7 – RIA Tomsk. Students of Tomsk State University (TSU) developed the first domestic greenhouse which at the expense
of the small sizes and specially picked up covering will allow to grow up
strawberry and pineapples without use of heating devices even in the Siberian
frosts, the press service of the university reported.
"With taking into account features of the Siberian
climate the year-round cultivation of vegetables in the Tomsk region is very
difficult and expensive task . <…> TSU students created the greenhouse
capable to work in the winter without
heating. <…> (Greenhouse) will help farmers to receive with smaller
financial expenses a quality harvest all the year ", – is said in the
message.

It is noted that in such greenhouse it is possible to
grow up any plants – for example, berry, greens, pineapples, vegetables.
Authors of the project have already found investors and have established the
first greenhouses. They have shown their efficiency – in August of last year,
having planted strawberry to greenhouses, for the next four months students
have received 131 kilograms of berries from 50 "squares". Also in
greenhouses tried to grow up arugula and a basil.
It is added that tests of greenhouses will be continued
this summer in the Kemerovo region. Also developers plan to attract in the
project foreign students and thanks to it to come to foreign level.
In turn one of developers of the greenhouse told RIA
Tomsk that there are no analogs in Russia of the technology offered by TSU
students, however similar technologies are abroad.
He explained that the heat remains in hotbeds because
their height – is not standard four meters, but around two (height of human
growth). Besides, the heat remains thanks to the fact that for each type of
plants the special type of a covering of the greenhouse is selected, which
allows to maintain temperature, optimum for this look.
