19 – RIA Tomsk. Scientists of Tomsk State University of Architecture and
Building (TSUAB) developed windows of a special design which keep heat and
protect from noise as well as stone walls – they will be useful, for example,
for kindergartens in northern regions, the developer of the project, the
graduate student Elena Poderni reported RIA Tomsk.
"We
developed and patented plastic windows of the special design with airexchange
valves. <…> Most of all warm leave apartments through usual windows, and
ours have resistance to the warm transfer almost the same as walls", – she
told.

According
to Poderni, it was managed to reach low warmloss thanks to the fact that each
part of the window is in separate cover. At the same time scientists suggested
to increase number of layers in frames from standard three to five. And the
through air duct in a wall can replace a window leaf if necessary; at the same time
intensity of airing is regulated. Low warmloss will allow to cut down expenses
for heating also.
The
interlocutor of the agency added that it was also succeeded to reach the
maximum noise isolation. It can be kept even when airing the room – if to open
not a window, but an air duct.
Poderni
specified that the windows were developed by scientists and students of TSUAB.
Batches were produced at Tomsk plant of plastic windows. Now developers look
for investors to bring windows to the market – allegedly, they will be 1,5
times more expensive than plastic windows of "the simplest complete
set". However before entry into the market of the product a number of
tests was conducted.
She noted
that such windows will be useful in areas where high thermal insulation is
necessary, for example, in northern regions. Besides, they will be suitable for
situations when the silence is necessary. In particular, they can be used in
kindergartens, hospitals, nursing homes, educational institutions, recording
studios or just in apartments of those where people would prefer to live
without noise.
