© сайт ТГУ TOMSK, Aug 19 – RIA Tomsk. Scientists of Tomsk State University (TSU) by request of the Chinese company manufactured the
sealed-off strontium vapor laser for cutting glass and ceramics; its
application will cheapen the details production which are used for production
of smartphones and tablets, the press service of the university reports on
Friday.
It is noted that the laser on strontium vapors is the original
development of TSU scientists, has no analogs in the world and has ample
opportunities of application, including electronic industry and medicine.
"Scientists of the faculty of innovative technologies (FIT) by
request of the Wuhan Energy Electrical Co company., Ltd. (China) manufactured
the sealed-off strontium vapor laser for cutting of fragile materials and
ceramics by method of the operated thermosplit", – is said in the message
and is added that by means of the TSU installation in China will produce
smartphones and tablets.

It is explained that the method is attractive with the fact that in
process there is a smaller quantity of waste and marriage as work is performed
with an accuracy of several microns. Besides, the laser beam creates the smooth
cut demanding no additional polishing. Its application considerably simplifies,
accelerates and reduces the cost of the manufacturing details process.
"We managed to reach superaccuracy due to modification of the laser
bunch itself which cuts glass or ceramics. The installation manufactured for
the Chinese company allows to use a special set of lengths of waves in visible
and infrared area of a range", – quoted in the message the dean of FIT TSU
Anatoly Soldatov.
It is added that the installation manufactured for the Chinese company
is already sent to the city of Wuhan. The customer will be able to use it for
cutting of all types of glass and ceramics from single order to set.
