26 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) plans to start in 2017 the
international master program which graduates will be able to resolve issues
with deficiency of drinking water in the countries of Asia, on the remote oil
fields in Siberia, the head of the department of hydrogeology Natalya Guseva
reported RIA Tomsk on Friday.
The
interlocutor of the agency explained that graduates of the program will be able
to resolve issues on providing the remote field camps with water (for example,
oil fields), settlements in China and India (these regions – are one of the
most problem in the world on quality of water), and also to work at usual city
water utilities.
"Such
experts can work anywhere there are problems with water resources. This problem
is very complex, including by quantity and quality of water. And they are
capable to resolve issues with quality of water, they can evaluate where are
the problems and how to get water more quality water", – she told.

According
to her, training will be conducted in English, both Russians, and foreigners
can become students of a magistracy. It is supposed that the program under the
name "Clear water" will be implemented in a format of the
"Double Degree diploma", and now TPU looks for foreign higher
education institution which will act as the partner. "We are obliged to
start the program in 2017", – Guseva added.
As the
press service of the university reported, the project is implemented within the
framework of TPU activity at the Network University of BRICS countries. In this
structure Tomsk Polytechnic University is a coordinator of work of the
international group "Water resources and fight against their
pollution" and is obliged to start at least one master or the PhD-program
together with other participating higher education institutions of group.
Earlier it
was reported that TPU and Tomsk State University enter TOP 100 higher education
institutions of the countries of BRICS, within long years they cooperate with
higher education institutions and the scientific organizations of this region.
Also TSU and TPU enter 12 of the Russian participating higher education
institutions of the BRCS International Network University – the project is
directed to creation of uniform educational space and development of the
academic mobility between these countries.
